This dam is now a crucial source of electricity generation in Munnar. This is an important source of water for animals and birds. The dam is also a great place to spot elephants as this reservoir is their favourite spot to drink water.<\/p>\n<p>Mattupetty is also famous for its Indo Swiss Livestock Project. It is also called a cattle village as hundreds of high yielding breeds of cattle are reared here. Hundreds of high quality bred cattle grazing freely in lush green meadows is a unique view.
